The 33-year-old Pennsylvania native entered the stage to the screams of adoring fans wearing a silver dress and matching heels. After a tech handed her a white guitar, she looked out into the crowd and asked the fans in attendance if it was okay for her to sing them a song.

“I was thinking I would do one I’ve never played live before,” Swift added as she began to strum the opening notes of her latest single. “It would be so presumptuous to say, ‘if you know it, sing it.’ But if you do…” she smiled, continuing the performance.

In addition to performing “Anti-Hero,” Swift treated fans of The 1975 to a cover of the band’s song, “The City.”

 

Swift’s surprise visit to the band’s show was not unwelcome. She got to hear their latest album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, prior to its release, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy told Pitchfork during an interview last August. Swift also played her latest LP, Midnights for the band before it dropped on Oct. 21, the outlet indicated.

Healy had previously shared that he and his bandmates would love to collaborate with Swift at some point during a BBC Radio 1 interview in October. “We haven’t done it yet,” Healy said at the time.

Then, in a November 2022 interview with Audacy, Healy revealed he and his bandmates worked with Swift “a bit” on Midnights but “the version of it never came out.”

Their work with Swift and new album aside, The 1975 is busy performing on their Being Funny in a Foreign Language Tour, whose next stop is in Birmingham U.K. on Jan. 15 at Resorts World Arena.

Swift is also gearing up to head out on her much-anticipated Eras Tour, which kicks off on Mar. 17 in Glendale, Arizona at State Farm Stadium featuring support from Paramore and GAYLE.

The country-pop superstar’s upcoming tour drew national attention after ticket sales and distribution company, Ticketmaster, botched its pre-sale, resulting in crashing servers, long wait times, and the ire of loyal Swift fans everywhere. Due to an insufficient amount of tickets remaining, the company eventually canceled the general on sale, prompting Swift to break her silence on the matter.

“It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these [fan] relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse,” Swift said. “There are a multitude of reasons why people had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved moving forward. I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them multiple times if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could.”

“It’s truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them,” Swift continued, adding that she hoped to create more opportunities for her and her fans to sing her songs together.

Swift’s tenth studio album, Midnights dropped on Oct. 21.

His latest viral moment happened when he appeared by the stage near the VIP section of her concert on Sunday.

Kelce danced away to Swift’s hit song Karma and her fans cheered in excitement. He smiled at the crowd, who reached out their hands to give him high-fives, and showed off his dance moves as they boogied along with him.

“My friend sent me this from the VIP area in Paris! Travis Kelce came down and hung out with them!” wrote Vanessa Marquette on X, formerly Twitter, and shared a video of the moment to the platform. Her post has notched up close to 442,000 views.

“I think I would’ve fr [for real] fainted 😭,” replied @iw1shy0uwould.

“He handles all this craziness so well. Travis was born to be Taylor’s significant other!🥰,” added @redsassypants.

While @lschweitzer7 commented, “That smirk!!!! He knew it was coming. 😎,” referring to Swift having changed a line in the song to say “Karma is a guy on the Chiefs,” since going public with Kelce in September.

Kelce was also spotted in the stands at the Paris show and fans thought he sent a subtle gesture to his famous girlfriend during the concert.

During her performance of “So High School,” Kelce smiled and pointed to himself when she sang “I feel so high school every time I’m with you.”

The song from Swift’s double album, The Tortured Poets Department: An Anthology which was released in April, is believed to be about the 34-year-old football player.

In the first verse, Swift appears to reference an Afterbuzz interview in which Kelce played “Marry, Kiss or Kill” in 2016, and the NFL star chose Swift, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry, although he had yet to meet his now girlfriend.

“Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me? It’s just a game, but really, I’m bettin’ on all three for us two,” Swift sings in “So High School.”

Another track on the double album called, “The Alchemy” is believed to be dedicated to Kelce, because the lyrics contain football-themed references to touchdowns, trophies and winning streaks.

When not winning Super Bowls with the Chiefs, Kelce has been sure to support Swift at her concerts including in Buenos Aires, Singapore, Sydney and now France.

He first attended an Eras concert in July 2023 where he revealed he had hoped to meet the singer so he could give her his phone number, but did not get the chance to do so.

The late designer Karl Lagerfeld designed the 10 signature suites at the hotel, which “respects the landmark’s 18th-century heritage”, and Taylor will have been surrounded by sumptuous interiors and antiques as she relaxed in her pricey suite after the epic three-hour long gigs.

The palatial suites also come with a butler, marble bathrooms, and huge bathtubs, meaning the Cruel Summer hitmaker can take a luxurious dip as she reflects on performing in front of thousands of fans around the world. If the Grammy-winning singer has time to indulge in the delectable dining options on offer, she could book a table at the hotel’s Nonos par Paul Pairet, which serves guests delicious French cuisine such as steak frites and chocolate soufflé. Also in the Hôtel De Crillon is the Michelin-starred restaurant L’Écrin, which promises customers an “unforgettable sensory expedition” with five or seven-course tasting menus that include “remarkable” wine pairings.

There’s also a chic tea room, the Jardin d’Hiver, and cocktail bar Les Ambassadeurs which also features live music. As many fans predicted, Swift worked her 11th album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ into the setlist as a new ‘era’ – with some tracks being cut as a result.

After wrapping up the Paris dates, the singer thanked her team for helping her create the new version of the show during the two-month break after the ‘Eras Tour’ visited Singapore in March.

“This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical,” Swift wrote on social media, alongside a series of images from the set.

“To my crew, fellow performers, and band who worked tirelessly in their break to concoct this surprise for you – but mostly for the fans in Paris. I’m so thankful that it was you we got to show this to for the first time because you gave us so much excitement, passion, and love.”

The ‘Tortured Poets…’ segment of the gig includes the songs ‘But Daddy I Love Him’, ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?’, ‘Down Bad’, ‘Fortnight’, ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’ and ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’.

Swift has dropped tracks such as ‘Long Live’, ‘The 1’, ‘Tolerate It’ and ‘The Archer’ to make room for the new additions, and combined the ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ sections into one ‘era’.
