Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is going from tight end to game show host, as new reports claim he is hosting an updated version of the television show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?

Production has reportedly already begun in Los Angeles on the series called Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, which is why the NFL star and girlfriend Taylor Swift have been spending so much time in the city. Variety first reported the news in March, sharing that there were some concerns “about how much of a commitment Kelce could make to the venture if he continues playing football”.

He will need to return to Kansas City for training in mid-July ahead of the new NFL season kicking off in September, and his schedule for the following six months will be tight.

HELLO! has reached out to Amazon and reps for Travis for comment.

Travis’ decision to make the move into hosting comes after he has already been making small steps into the world of entertainment.

In 2016 he was the star of his own reality romance show, Catching Kelce, but in recent years he has hosted Saturday Night Live and made the move to begin producing films and documentaries: his first film My Dead Friend Zoe, premiered at SXSW earlier in March, and King Pleasure, an upcoming documentary about Jean-Michel Basquiat, will go into production later in 2024.

It was thought that Travis would travel to Europe in May with Taylor as she begins the fourth leg of her Eras Tour in France.

The superstar wrapped up the third leg of her Eras Tour with six nights in Singapore in February – and she ended it with another shout out to boyfriend Travis, changing the lyrics in ‘Karma’ to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me”

Indeed, Swift has risen to become the second richest self-made woman in music — with her net worth at a cool $740 million. She has surpassed Madonna’s net worth of $580 million, but ranks behind Rihanna, whose net worth is $1.4 billion.

And while she’s not busy on a very sold-out tour, she stays active when it comes to real estate.

Since 2011, Swift has stockpiled a real estate portfolio worth upward of $80 million.

In 2017, she purchased a 100-year-old, four-story townhouse next door for $18 million. The three-story townhouse on Franklin Street comes with a gym, a spa, antique French wide-plank oak floors and a planted terrace with a Japanese paper glass wall.

The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, November 5, and he was also asked if Swift would be in attendance. He played coy again.

“When I mention—or everyone knows—she’s at the game, the Vegas [line] and over-under on my catches goes up and down,” Kelce joked. “The spread goes up and down. So I don’t want to mess with any of that stuff…I’m just going to keep that to myself.”

On October 22, Swift watched Kelce’s team win against the Los Angeles Chargers, and CBS broadcasters showed a graphic comparing game play when she was in the bleachers versus when he’s “left to his own devices.” They stated that Kelce has gained 99 yards per game over 46.5 whenever she’s not there to cheer him on.

Even his brother, Jason Kelce, has mentioned it during their New Heights podcast together, saying, “Taylor was in attendance and it’s turning out it was good she was in attendance because they put your stats up—when she’s at the game, when she is not at the game. I don’t know if you’re aware of this.”

Kelce responded, “How could I not be aware of this? ‘Left to his own devices.’ Well put.”

His girlfriend claimed late last year that her ongoing dispute with Kim ‘took her down psychologically’ and forced her into hiding before branding the American socialite and her ex-husband Kanye ‘trash.’

Taylor and Kim’s feud stems from 2016 when Kim released a recorded phone call claiming that Taylor gave consent for Kanye to pen a vulgar lyric about her on his famous track, ‘Stronger.’

‘I made that b**** famous,’ he says, referring in the lyrics to a ‘Taylor’ who is clearly Swift and saying he might still sleep with her.

Since then both stars have made various jibes and references to the row, with Taylor particularly taking aim in her 2017 album Reputation.

The singer was also overshadowed by Kanye’s rant at the 2009 VMAs, when he said that in his opinion, Beyoncé was more deserving of winning the Best Female Video award than Taylor, although the pair made up when Taylor proudly supported Kanye at the same event in 2015.

Footage of Travis claiming that he would marry Kim comes after he also said in the same interview that he would choose to wed Katy Perry instead of Taylor.

Katy along with Travis was on tour with Taylor in Australia, earlier this month.

After closing his 13-season NFL career, Jason Kelce plans to shed some weight and explore new hobbies as he lives away from the football field.

 

On Monday, the former Eagles center held a press conference to announce his retirement from the sport. During the emotional speech, the 36-year-old gave his thanks and reminisced on his fond memories as a player.

On Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason told his brother Travis about his post-retirement plans. He revealed that, with his duties as a center behind him, he plans to trim down and get in better shape.

‘I’m gonna slim down,’ Jason said. ‘My goal is 250 [lbs]. This last week, I got down to 285 cause I knew I was doing this. And then I had cake for three days in a row.’

Jason also shared his approach on his journey to his desired weight. He revealed that he does not plan on starting an extreme diet but is taking baby steps by tracking his calorie intake.

‘I don’t personally subscribe to doing extreme diets like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto,’ he continued. ‘My man Joe Thomas lost a bunch of weight [and] he’s all keto. And I’m like, ‘Dude more power to you,’ but f**k no, I’m not doing that. He looks fantastic, but it’s not worth, to me, doing that.

‘I downloaded MyFitnessPal and just started tracking calories. I feel like as long as I maintain my protein intake, so I keep my muscle and just kind of limit the calories, you’ll start to lose weight, that’s the plan.’

Aside from setting new fitness goals, Kelce also vowed to learn new skills and hold his weight in doing housework. He praised his wife, Kylie, for her wiring skills and expressed interest in making knives.

‘I’m looking forward to do something that’s not football,’ Jason shared. ‘I’ve been so committed to the sport for so long, it’s embarrassing when your wife knows how to do more housework. Her dad is an electrician, she can fish a wire.’

Travis went on to question Jason’s inability to fish a wire and claimed that he has done the task while fixing his speakers.

‘I’m talking about in walls – she could put in a new outlet if she wanted to,’ Jason said.

‘Shout out to Ky for being the handyman around the hose,’ Travis responded.

‘I like the TV show forged in fire,’ Jason continued. ‘I want to go to a blacksmith and make a knife, that’d be fun.

‘Count me in on that one, don’t do that without me. I’m gonna make a sword,’ Travis suggested.

‘A sword is a whole other undertaking, I don’t know we are good enough to make a sword,’ Jason closed.

Kelce, who is married to retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, was described as “incredibly gracious and kind” during the interaction in a caption on X (formerly Twitter) written alongside the photo.

“I very rarely ask celebs for photos but @callahankatie1 & I made an exception for Princess Kyana aka #KylieKelce at the #WFinalFour,” the X user, named Amanda Brooks, wrote in the caption. “No surprise, but she was incredibly gracious and kind to a *long* line of fans and 2 PR gals from ESPN.”

During Friday’s event, Kylie was seen in a clip posted by Yahoo Sports on X making her way to her seat. The 32-year-old was also seen smiling from her section as she watched the game in another clip posted by NCAA March Madness on X.

Kylie’s husband Jason, 36, and their three daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 13 months, did not appear to have attended.

The outcome of Friday’s March Madness Final Four tournament saw the University of South Carolina Gamecocks win against the NC State Wolfpack at a score of 78-59 and the Iowa Hawkeyes defeat the University of Connecticut Huskies with a score of 71-69.
