Jason Kelce has been working on his retirement speech for four years, his wife Kylie said soon after her NFL star husband hung up his shoulder pads from football on Monday.

Kelce’s NFL future had been in doubt since the Eagles lost in the NFC Wild Card Round to the Buccaneers on January 15.

But despite whatever Donna’s parents intended for her, Jason described how she graduated from college, went into banking, became a VP and “was largely the breadwinner” for the Kelces.

“I like to think I got my toughness, aggression, and lunch-pail mentality from my father, and from my mother, I learned the all-too-important lesson of never letting anyone tell you what you can’t do,” the 36-year-old declared.

Travis has spent the last few days in Philadelphia ahead of Jason’s press conference. On Sunday, the brothers supported a charity fundraiser for cancer survivors in honor of Brendan McDermott, a 38-year-old man who passed away in May.

The NFL stars wore Team Rectify shirts in support of the cause as they greeted firefighters and first responders at the event.

McDermott’s in-law, Jess Viola, shared a carousel of photos from the day on social media, writing, “i’ll just leave this here. these two are awesome. i know brendan is smiling down right now. some legends wearing #teamrectify hats.”

D’Angelo Russell’s 26-Point Outburst and LeBron James’ Leadership Propel Lakers to Statement Win over Western Conference-Leading Thunder.

D´Angelo Russell hit five 3-pointers while scoring 26 points, and Anthony Davis added 24 points and 12 rebounds in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-104 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.

LeBron James had 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in the Lakers’ 10th victory in 14 games. Austin Reaves added 16 points while hitting four 3s for the Lakers, who won their third straight meeting with the Western Conference-leading Thunder to take the season series.

In his first game since scoring his record 40,000th career point in a loss to Denver, James nearly got a triple-double before the Lakers´ big lead allowed him to sit out the final six minutes. Davis was able to sit out the entire fourth quarter when the Lakers hit six 3-pointers in quick succession during his absence, boosting their lead to 25 points.

 

Russell punctuated the Lakers’ decisive rally by hitting 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions with increasing theatrics.
