Taylor Swift made a speedy getaway from LAX Saturday evening after the popstar completed the first stage of her mad dash to reunite with boyfriend Travis Kelce at Super Bowl LVIII.

The songstress touched down in Los Angeles following an eight-hour flight from Tokyo, arriving to a media and fan frenzy and high police presence at the airport

The global superstar attempted to maintain a low profile as she deplaned from the private jet bearing the call sign ‘The Football Era’ that was tracked by over 32,000 people and immediately escaped the airport to head to her LA home.

A fleet of SUVs was pulled up next to the hangar at the airport’s private terminal to whisk the 34-year-old away and she was seen hurrying to the waiting vehicles, shielded by an umbrella in new footage.

A curtain could be seen dividing the front seats of one of the vehicles from the rear of the car with Swift seemingly hiding from the circus outside the airport.

The pop superstar was zipped off to her Beverly Hills mansion where she hunkered down for the night.

After seeking refuge in home comforts for one night, Swift is expected to complete the remaining 300 miles of her journey to Las Vegas for the big game Sunday morning.

Despite leaving Japan at 9.30pm Saturday night, the music megastar arrived in LA earlier than when she left – touching down at 3.35pm on Saturday afternoon thanks to the time difference.

Swift made the dash back from Japan following a busy week that took in four sold out performances at the Tokyo Dome – the final one on Saturday night.

The pop billionaire is also fresh from winning a record-breaking fourth ‘album of the year’ Grammy – handed out at a glitzy ceremony in LA while Kelce, 34, was arriving in Las Vegas ahead of the Super Bowl.

He also joked with brother Jason, 36, on their New Heights podcast about how expensive being in Vegas is, saying: ‘I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come.’

Kelce’s parents have already arrived in Las Vegas and are staying at the Strip’s glitzy Resort World hotel, with Donna, 71, seen there Thursday morning.

Jason, meanwhile, has checked into the Aria and was photographed playing blackjack in the casino and at a U2 gig at the Sphere. On Friday, he took wife Kylie, 31, to watch Adele at the Cosmopolitan where he was heard shouting ‘Eagles!’ during a break in the show.

Kelce, who will have time to spare once the football season ends, has been among the attendees at previous gigs and, in November, traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to see her perform during the NFL’s mid-season break.

The loved-up pair have become increasingly serious since getting together in August, with Kelce describing their relationship as ‘a beautiful thing’ during an interview.

Asked about Swift by ESPN’s Pat McAfee, the Chief’s No.87 said the pair had known each other for a month before her first appearance at a game in September.

Purdy was the last selection of the 2022 NFL Draft. He complicated the 49ers quarterback situation with Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. Then Purdy made general manager John Lynch’s decision incredibly easy with his stellar play.

Patrick Mahomes has been one of the NFL’s best overall players since 2018 and already has two Super Bowls, including in Super Bowl LIV over San Francisco.

Purdy no doubt has more offensive talent around him, but has never played in a game of this magnitude.

Mahomes has been here before, but may have the weakest supporting cast in Kansas City, outside of Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco, that has ever appeared with him in a Super Bowl.

No matter how ready Purdy is to disappoint Swift, it is hard to ever bet against Mahomes in these kinds of games.

Her presence at the game likely will not effect Kelce. No other member of the crowd, even as plenty of other celebrities will be in attendance, will come close to how much Swift is shown.

And now the journey has begun, with the Associated Press initially reporting that Swift stepped off stage at the Tokyo Dome on Saturday night and was rushed straight to her private jet at Haneda Airport.

On popular flight-tracking website FlightRadar, thousands of fans then began tracking a private jet on the tarmac, which was listed as ‘VistaJet (The Football Era)’ – in an apparent nod to Swift’s new love for the sport.

Remarkably, there also appeared to be a second jet alongside it – named ‘The Backup Quarterback’ – should anything have gone wrong with the main plane.

The flight, which Swift is believed to be on, is heading from Tokyo to Los Angeles initially, and she is due to land on the west coast shortly after 4pm in the afternoon, local time.

From there, she has just over 24 hours to complete the final, far shorter, leg of her journey – 300 miles across to Vegas, Nevada.

The time difference from Asia to the west coast of North America means that, although she performed on Saturday night in Tokyo, she will actually land earlier than that in LA.

All eyes have been on Swift to see whether she’d make the mad dash across the world to see her man, with more Eras Tour shows taking place in Melbourne, Australia from Friday.

Fans will be desperately trying to track the jet across the world, as she heads to her 13th Chiefs game of the season – coincidentally her lucky number.

The Japanese Embassy in Washington posted on social media that she could make the Super Bowl in time, including in their statement three Swift song titles – ‘Speak Now’, ‘Fearless’ and ‘Red.’

‘If she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins,’ it said.

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. The leader of the Chiefs is not expected to retire following Super Bowl 58, per ESPN. Reid is 65-years-old and coaching in his fifth Super Bowl on Sunday.

The Chiefs have found a winning combination with Reid coaching and quarterback Patrick Mahomes under center. The franchise is playing in their fourth Super Bowl championship game in the past five years on Sunday. The Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, a rematch from four years ago when Reid won his first championship. The Chiefs scored 21 points in the fourth quarter of that game to walk away with a thrilling 31-20 win over the 49ers.

 

While Reid isn’t expected to retire, his contract is likely to be addressed this offseason. Reid is making around $12 million a year, per ESPN. That is less than some other coaches in the AFC, including Jim Harbaugh of the Los Angeles Chargers. Reid is certainly worthy of a pay bump for getting the Chiefs to another Super Bowl. He’s never had a losing season since he’s led Kansas City.

 

Reid coached the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl in 2004, before leaving that franchise following the 2012 season. He’s coached in Kansas City since 2013, but didn’t find the level of success he’s now had until Patrick Mahomes joined the franchise in 2017. With Mahomes, Reid and the Chiefs have made six consecutive AFC Championship game appearances. While Reid certainly isn’t expected to retire, no one would probably blame him either if he did should the Chiefs win on Sunday. It’s certainly reasonable to want to go out on top.
