Looks like Tony Romo just referred to Taylor Swift as Travis Kelce’s wife … again.

During the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day, the NFL commentator accidentally called the singer-songwriter by the wrong title. Instead of referring to her as Kelce’s girlfriend, he called her his wife. Again.

ESPN posted a video of the mixup on Instagram. In the video, Swift, 34, stands up cheering on Kelce. Then, the camera flashes to Kelce.

“And his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend,” Romo said in the video posted on Monday.

“You’ve been down that road with that before,” play-by-play broadcaster Jim Nantz responded.

Romo, 43, made the same mistake during the Bills-Chiefs game last week. As the camera focused on Kelce, 34, during the game, it then transitioned to show Swift smiling and sitting in the stands.

“As you see, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience,” Romo said, before quickly catching his mistake and correcting himself, adding, “Er, I’m sorry. Girlfriend!”

“Not yet,” another commentator then replied while laughing at Romo’s blunder.

Following the incident on Monday, fans took to social media to share their reactions to the situation.

One X user said: “@tonyromo know something we don’t? Or care about really but he just called #TaylorSwift @tkelce‘s wife #ChiefsKingdom”

“Tony romo gotta be manifesting something based on how many times he’s referred to Taylor swift as Travis kelce’s wife,” another person wrote.

“Someone needs to tell Tony Romo that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift aren’t married,” an additional tweet read.

Mom Andrea, 65, and dad Scott Swift, 71, joined the “Anti-Hero” singer as she walked into Arrowhead Stadium on Monday. Her brother, Austin Swift, also made an appearance secretly dressed as Santa Claus. As Swift made her way into the stadium, she walked with her brother by her side. Her parents followed behind them.

The musician supported Super Bowl champion Kelce as his team took on the Las Vegas Raiders at home Monday. Swift wore a black and gray plaid miniskirt, red sweater, black tights, her go-to black heeled loafers and a black bomber jacket (from bestie Gigi Hadid’s brand Guest in Residence).

She wore her hair pulled half up in a sweet black bow and showed off a pair of “T” earrings. Once she got into her suite, though, she capped off her look with a very festive Santa hat with an “87” on it — Kelce’s number.

It was not as pretty as in previous years, but thanks to the talent of Patrick Mahomes and the grittiness of their defense, the Kansas City Chiefs took home their third Super Bowl title in five seasons — defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in Super Bowl LVIII. Kansas City now has a chance to become the first franchise in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls next season, and a possible three-peat starts with the moves the franchise makes in the offseason.

Acquisitions are always the focus once the season ends, but some of the toughest decisions are internal debates over which veteran players to cut to save money. The Chiefs currently have $22 million in salary cap space for 2024 but face some difficult free-agent decisions before the 2024 season begins. Defensive tackle Chris Jones and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed — two of the league’s elites — are both free agents and the franchise must determine whether to re-sign them or let them go. With these concerns in mind, here are the top three cut candidates for the Chiefs this offseason as they look to open up cap space.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Wide Receiver)

Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Chiefs leading up to the 2022 season with much of the money backloaded. The Kansas City wideout had some value in 2022, making $4.8 million while recording 687 receiving yards. In 2023, his cap hit doubled ($10.98 million) while his production was less than half of what it was the season before (315 receiving yards).

Valdes-Scantling carries a $13.98 million cap hit in 2024 — the 22nd-highest cap hit among NFL receivers. MVS has been nowhere near the production that justifies that sort of price tag. Cutting Valdes-Scantling at any point in the offseason saves the Chiefs $11.98 million, leaving the team with just $2 million in dead cap.

Kadarius Toney (Wide Receiver)

Kansas City needs to upgrade its wide receivers, but first, it must remove the dead weight. In 20 career games with the Chiefs, Kadarius Toney has just 41 catches for 340 yards. His miserable 6.3 yards per catch in 2023 would have put him among the worst in the league if he was eligible. Drops were also an issue, as Toney dropped five of his 38 targets (second-worst drop percentage if eligible).

The production has not been for Toney this year and the former New York Giants wideout became the primary scapegoat for the Chiefs’ offensive struggles this season. Cutting Kadarius Toney means that Kansas City would eat all of his $2.5 million salary in 2024, but this move is for the best — both for the Chiefs and for Toney.

Lucas Niang (Offensive Tackle)

The one benefit of having a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes who eats up a large chunk of the salary cap is that the Chiefs cannot afford to hand out bloated contracts. Only seven players on the Kansas City roster carry a cap hit of $10 million or more in 2024. This includes stars like Travis Kelce and Joe Thuney alongside Mahomes. It also means that young standouts like Trent McDuffie, George Karlaftis, and Isaiah Pacheco are still on affordable rookie deals. The takeaway? KC does not have a lot of dead weight on the roster.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is the only clear-cut candidate, but if the team wanted to open up more cap room it could look to release Lucas Niang. The backup offensive tackle has played just 67 snaps over the last two seasons, providing him with little value to the Chiefs. Niang is also entering the final year of his rookie deal and carries a $1.3 million salary cap hit. The Chiefs would save $1.1 million by cutting Lucas Niang this offseason — a move that makes sense when the team can easily replace him with a rookie tackle.

While the new year may have just arrived, like, yesterday, Emma Stone already knows one major event that 2024 has in store for her: seeing her BFF Taylor Swift perform at the Eras Tour…again.

During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Stone sat down with the late-night host and her co-star, Mark Ruffalo, to talk about their new film, Poor Things, and her longtime friendship with Swift.

“How many times have you seen the Eras Tour now?” Norton asked, to which Stone replied, “Three, so far,” adding that she and Taylor have been friends since “she was 17 and I was 18.”

“We met at this thing that they had called the Young Hollywood Awards in L.A., and we just kept in touch ever since and became great friends,” she continued of their 2008 meeting.

“What was very special about the first night of her tour was I had no idea what to expect, obviously because it was night one,” Emma said of her first time attending the Eras Tour back in March of last year. “It was in Phoenix, Arizona, my hometown. And Mandy Moore, who was the choreographer of La La Land, was her choreographer for the tour. So it was like a bunch of lovely things all come together, and it was incredible to see.”

Norton then asked Stone if she could confirm whether Swift’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vault track, “When Emma Falls in Love” — which was released with the re-recording in July 2023 and is rumored to be about the actress’s 2010 relationship with Kieran Culkin — was actually about her or not.

“You have to ask [Taylor],” Stone cheekily replied.

This isn’t the first time Emma has gushed about her friend’s show since it first kicked off in March 2023. Last year, the A-lister praised Swift’s performance when talking to Vanity Fair, saying, “The amount of sheer stamina to do three and a half hours and perform 44 songs and to maintain the extreme energy of the audience — I’ve never seen anything like it.”

They partied the night away after Swift went to cheer Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on to victory in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Swift arrived for the game at Arrowhead Stadium wearing a replica of the same Chiefs jacket that Kelce had arrived in for the Christmas Day NFL game which she was also at. A closer looks shows that she has ‘Tay’ stitched into the sleeve of her version – a nickname Travis has used for her before.

They have spent plenty of time together as the singer enjoys a break before a another year of touring in 2024.

For Kelce, he is currently in the middle of another relentless NFL season but has at least had two games in Kansas City on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, allowing more time at home than if the Chiefs had been scheduled to play on the road.

Sunday’s win saw the Chiefs wrap up the AFC West, giving Kelce another reason to celebrate after the game.

His team, last year’s Super Bowl winners, now round out the regular season next Sunday in Los Angeles against the Chargers before attention will turn sharply to the playoffs.

Swift doesn’t resume her Eras Tour until February but if the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl – in Vegas on February 11 – she might have to make a mad dash from Tokyo, where she will have just played her first shows on 2024, to the west coast to cheer Kelce on.

Swift this year will then play shows in Australia, Singapore and in the summer, will spend four months touring Europe.

And according to reports last week, Kelce has made some grand plans for Europe – with much of swift’s tour coinciding with his football offseason.

The 34-year-old has apparently booked trips to vineyards in Italy and tables for dinners at some of Europe’s finest restaurants for the couple to enjoy during her days off.

The Chiefs star could use his time in Britain to plan some adventures of his own, as well.

Recently, on the New Heights podcast that he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Travis suggested that they do live shows in Britain after learning they both have the top selling NFL jerseys there.

The latest that Kelce’s season will run to is February 11 with the Super Bowl, with teams then tending to report back for preseason in early August.

The couple went public with their relationship in late September last year when she arrived in Kansas City to cheer him on against the Chicago Bears in September 24. She sat next to his mom, Donna, for the duration of the game.

In her only interview since then, Swift said they had been spending time together up to then and were already a couple.

After their New York City date nights and Saturday Night Live cameos this weekend, it seems that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have cemented their status as lovers. While it’s no secret that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is a switch up from Swift’s usual tortured artist type (Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, etc.), the pop star is also reportedly different than Kelce’s former flames.

“Taylor’s unlike anyone Travis has dated before,” a source told People. “It was very unexpected for his friends, but he’s so into her and very, very happy.”

“Some people thought he was just joking around about the bracelet and having a crush on her earlier this summer, but he was serious about it,” the insider continued, referring to Kelce’s initial comments about Swift on his and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. The source added that the new couple is “having a great time getting to know one another” and has even “introduced some of their friends to each other.”

“Everyone’s getting along and seeing how much fun they have together,” the source added. “They make a very cute couple.” Of course, Swift has already become well acquainted with Travis’s parents, especially his mom, Donna Kelce, while attending several Chiefs games.

Over the weekend, the two made separate appearances during the SNL season premiere before attending the after-party together. As if their “kissing throughout the evening” and sweet hand-holding wasn’t enough to make you swoon, a source told Entertainment Tonight that at one point in the night, Kelce told her security guard that he could take over the protection details. “At one point, he actually told her security guard that he could step aside,” the source shared. “Like he’d take it from here.” He is a 6’5″ professional athlete, after all.

Jason Kelce shared that his brother, Travis Kelce, had to move from his Kansas City home for “safety reasons” after his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift started.

The topic came up during the Philadelphia Eagles’ conversation with Shaquille O’Neal on the Feb. 12 episode of “The Big Podcast with Shaq.”

Jason Kelce said he’s had to adjust to the fame brought on by his brother’s relationship with the pop star, which began in 2023.

“It’s crazy what it opens up opportunity wise. It’s crazy to feel how much joy you bring people or how much you affect people’s daily lives,” Jason Kelce said.

But there are “drawbacks” too, he continued. “Travis knows way more than I do,” he said. “He had to completely move out of his house.”

At his previous residence, “people were just staying by his house” so he moved for “safety reasons,” Jason Kelce explained.

“And the first day he moved in the new house, a gated community, somebody knocks on the back door — a window — of the house,” he said.

Jason Kelce said he and his brother are “still learning” about life as a very public figure.

The tight end and the singer became romantically linked in July. Swift was a regular at Travis Kelce’s NFL games, creating a crossover between sports and pop culture fandoms. She flew from her Tokyo “Eras Tour” stop to Las Vegas to watch Travis Kelce compete in the 2024 Super Bowl, which his team won. It was the most-watched telecast in history.

“We’ve always been big in the football world, Travis especially,” he said. “The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level. It’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before.”

Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce will both be in Los Angeles this week but the NFL hunk won’t be accompanying the singer to the 2024 Golden Globes.

 

Swift, 34, is expected to attend the 81st annual ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday as she’s among this year’s nominees.

She earned a nomination in the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category for her Eras Tour concert film, which has earned over $250million worldwide in less than three months.

On the same night, Kelce, 34, and his team the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium, where Swift hosted six sold-out concerts back in August.

Despite the big game taking place before the awards show on CBS, a source told Page Six that Kelce plans to jet back to Kansas City with his teammates right after to prepare for the NFL playoffs.

This means no red carpet and no Golden Globes after-parties for Kelce.

Swift’s Eras Tour film may help the superstar nab her first-ever Golden Globe win.

It hit theaters on October 13 and was filmed at one of Swift’s LA shows on a $15million budget.

The nearly three-hour movie documents the show from start to finish, allowing fans who couldn’t grab tickets a chance to experience the magic.

But Swift is up against some steep competition, including box office hits Barbie and Oppenheimer, in the new award category.

This year’s Golden Globe nomination is the fifth of Swift’s career as she’s snagged four Best Original Song nods over the past decade.

The nominated songs include: Carolina for the film ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ (2023), Beautiful Ghost for ‘Cats’ (2020), Sweeter Than Fiction for ‘One Chance’ (2014) and Safe & Sound for ‘The Hunger Games’ (2013).

Swift attended the ceremonies for her first three nominations but was noticeably absent from last year’s.

In 2020, she was joined by her now-ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn but they walked the red carpet separately. The former couple split in early 2023 after six years of dating.

Swift also served as a presenter at the 2019 Golden Globes with Idris Elba.

As for any details about where she may be seated this year, Golden Globes executive producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner told Variety that Swift can be ‘wherever she wants to be.’

Though they’ll be apart on Sunday night, Swift and Kelce did ring in 2024 together at a NYE party in Kansas City, Missouri over the weekend.

Friends shared multiple videos from the night, with a close pal of Kelce’s filming the room at midnight, which is when they inadvertently caught the couple kissing as the clock struck midnight.

And another guest filmed themselves amid the celebrations with Travis and Taylor smooching in the background for the entirety of the clip.

They partied the night away after Swift went to cheer Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on to victory at Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Swift arrived for the game at Arrowhead Stadium wearing a replica of the same Chiefs jacket that Kelce had arrived in for the Christmas Day NFL game which she was also at. A closer looks shows that she has ‘Tay’ stitched into the sleeve of her version – a nickname Travis has used for her before.

They have spent plenty of time together as the singer enjoys a break before a another year of touring in 2024.

For Kelce, he is currently in the middle of another relentless NFL season but has at least had two games in Kansas City on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, allowing more time at home than if the Chiefs had been scheduled to play on the road.

Sunday’s win saw the Chiefs wrap up the AFC West, giving Kelce another reason to celebrate after the game.

His team, last year’s Super Bowl winners, now round out the regular season next Sunday in Los Angeles against the Chargers before attention will turn sharply to the playoffs.

Swift doesn’t resume her Eras Tour until February but if the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl – in Vegas on February 11 – she might have to make a mad dash from Tokyo, where she will have just played her first shows on 2024, to the west coast to cheer Kelce on.

Swift this year will then play shows in Australia, Singapore and in the summer, will spend four months touring Europe.

And according to reports last week, Kelce has made some grand plans for Europe – with much of swift’s tour coinciding with his football offseason.

The 34-year-old has apparently booked trips to vineyards in Italy and tables for dinners at some of Europe’s finest restaurants for the couple to enjoy during her days off.

The Chiefs star could use his time in Britain to plan some adventures of his own, as well.

Recently, on the New Heights podcast that he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Travis suggested that they do live shows in Britain after learning they both have the top selling NFL jerseys there.

The latest that Kelce’s season will run to is February 11 with the Super Bowl, with teams then tending to report back for preseason in early August.

The couple went public with their relationship in late September last year when she arrived in Kansas City to cheer him on against the Chicago Bears in September 24. She sat next to his mom, Donna, for the duration of the game.

In her only interview since then, Swift said they had been spending time together up to then and were already a couple.
