Patrick Mahomes ended his seventh NFL season with his third Lombardi Trophy, and hit the pillow early Monday morning thinking about becoming the first team in NFL history to three-peat.

At least, that’s what this year’s Super Bowl‘s MVP (the third, same accolade of his career) told reporters before leaving for Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, with his wife and two children on Monday, while his Chiefs teammates boarded a private plane to return to home base, a.k.a Kansas City.

‘It’s legendary — no one’s ever done it,’ Mahomes said of his mindset to go after the three-peat. ‘No one’s ever done it, and we knew it’s legendary to win back-to-back. I think eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week. We had talked to the guys about it, and we felt like we had the best opportunity that we had ever had to go out there and do that.

‘We’ve got to continue to play our best football. We’ll celebrate these next few weeks, and then we’ll get right back at it.’

Mahomes said the Chiefs entered the halftime locker room trailing 10-3 on Sunday night very confident because they weren’t executing.

‘For us, we just had to be us. Give it everything we have and live with the results after,’ Mahomes said.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Mahomes’ performance and excellence can be easy to take for granted, but he’s still getting better.

‘He makes it look easy,’ Reid said. ‘This is a fluid game with the best athletes in this sport in the world. You’ve narrowed it down to the top two. And he’s out there playing like he’s in the back yard, like it’s nothing. From a head-coaching standpoint, guy that works with offensive guys, all you can ask for.’

The Chiefs are now the fourth franchise to win three Super Bowls in five seasons, so they have already technically cemented their spot in NFL history.

‘It means a ton,’ Mahomes said. ‘I know how hard these guys work. I know how hard these guys get after it. I know how hard the coaches work. I believe we’re the hardest-working team in the NFL, and for all of that hard work to pay off…

‘That’s something that we always preach is we believe we work for those moments, for those end-of-game moments, and we prepare ourselves for those. To be able to have our stamp on this great NFL history is something that I’ll never take for granted.’

The Chiefs have mostly steered clear from referring to themselves as a dynasty. But Reid, who just wrapped up his 25th season as an NFL coach, didn’t argue with the suggestion when it was brought up.

‘It is history,’ he said. ‘We don’t determine if it’s a dynasty … but I would tell you that it is as fine a group as I’ve been around, and I’ve been around [for 25 seasons and], been very fortunate. We’ve been around some great organizations, good teams, and this group here and organization are tremendous.

‘If somebody said dynasty and tagged us on to it, I’d be very proud of that.’

The Chiefs QB is a fan of his teammate’s girlfriend.

Patrick Mahomes is singing Taylor Swift’s praises! During an interview on CBS Mornings, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback reflected on his teammate, Travis Kelce’s, relationship with the pop star.

“At first, I feel like everybody kind of stayed away, just let him do what he was doing. And then he started bringing Taylor around and he realized how cool of a person she was, and she is,” Mahomes said. “For us, there were a couple of jokes here and there at the beginning, but now she’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom now. She’s part of the team.”

 

As for his pal, Kelce, Mahomes said, “He’s lucky enough to be with a great girl and a great woman.”

Mahomes also spoke about Swift’s budding friendship with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, noting, “It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany and they’ve built a friendship as well.”

“It’s been cool to kind of interact with her… She’s top tier at her profession, [so we’re able to] see how she drives and she becomes that. It’s really cool to hear about it and see,” he said of Swift. “Now I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis’ eyes, so it’s really cool.”

At the end of the day, Mahomes said, “I’m glad that she’s the person that she is. That’s why I think her and Travis match so well.”

Mahomes isn’t the only Chiefs player to express his support for Kelce’s romance. Rashee Rice recently appeared on Fubo Sports’ Airing It Out podcast and said, “I’m happy for Trav. She’s real good with support with the team. And she brought a lot more fans to the team, too.”

Kelce himself hasn’t been shy about his appreciation for his girlfriend. During the most recent episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce marveled at New England Patriots fans’ reaction to Swift when she stepped out to support the Chiefs as the two teams faced off.

“I mean, you don’t see an entire home team fanbase go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team’s colors,” he said. “Just shows you how amazing that girl is. They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen, yes.”

“There might have been a few Brads and Chads that were booing, but for the most part everybody was screaming their f**king tails off for her,” he added. “I was trying to keep it cool. I was like, ‘Don’t show your cards. Don’t show your cards.’”

Miles Teller‘s wife Keleigh Sperry revealed she purchased the stunning opal ring that her pal Taylor Swift wore on her 34th birthday, not boyfriend Travis Kelce.

‘It looks like Taylor is showing off that specific ring to Keleigh and Miles Teller, who are also rumored to be the potential Cupid matchmakers of Taylor and Travis,’ the TikToker said of the photo of Taylor, Keleigh and Miles.

Describing her interpretation of the three looking at Taylor’s hand, she added: ‘This to me is giving gift, it’s giving look what he got me, it’s giving look how beautiful this custom piece is.’

The TikToker also explained the significance behind the opal and topaz stones – opal is Kelce’s birthstone, while topaz is Taylor’s.

Taylor has also previously said opal is her ‘favorite stone’, revealing how it was a source of comfort when she was in high school.

‘My favorite stone is an opal because when I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry. I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better. We never bought them, just looked,’ she told Us Weekly back in 2017.

Swift will resume the second leg of her “Eras Tour” in February with stops in Tokyo, Australia and Singapore, and then head home for a short break before resuming the tour in Europe. While Kelce was spotted at a gig in Argentina last month, the couple could use their own dedicated downtime.

“Since they are both in the limelight with limited downtime, another great gift would be a secret trip to a tropical island for some much needed R&R, especially after her tour and when football season ends,” Polley and Nach said.

Kelce is known for flaunting his eye for design both on and off the field. Polley and Nach agreed that a perfect matching set never goes out of style when it comes to gifting.

“Travis has a unique fashion sense, so Taylor should ask one of her designer friends to create a custom pattern or monogram design that is unique to them for matching PJs they can cozy up in,” they said.

The new couple can think outside the box by creating new holiday traditions with a “romantic date night they should continue year after year.”

“Hire a private chef to cook them an amazing meal with some of their favorite dishes and bring in massage therapists to give a couples massage that they can enjoy in the privacy of their home and away from the paparazzi,” Polley and Nach said.

For the Kansas City Chiefs, loving Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s new relationship is burning red.

The team is currently auctioning off two jerseys signed by the star tight end with his number 87 until Christmas Day. But where the last name “Kelce” is usually emblazoned across the back, these jerseys have a twist — they feature two popular iterations of Swift and Kelce’s “ship” name, or a word combining a couple’s names.

One of the jerseys features the name “Swelce,” a combination of their last names, while another reads, “Traylor,” for Travis and Taylor.

The jerseys are available on a website called Chiefs Bids, an auction platform for fans to bid on worn and autographed merchandise from the players, according to the Chiefs website.

Both jerseys are custom and signed by Kelce, and signatures are verified by a certificate or sticker authentication, the item descriptions state.

As of 1 p.m. ET on Dec. 24, the highest bid on the “Swelce” jersey was $370, while the “Traylor” version stood at $295.

Mania over the new couple reached new heights after Swift’s surprise appearance at Arrowhead Stadium Sept. 24, when the singer was spotted cheering on the Chiefs alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna.

She went on to attend six more games, most recently on Dec. 17 at Gillette Stadium when the Chiefs defeated the Patriots 27-17.

Swift later revealed in an interview with Time that by the time she attended that first September game, her and Kelce were already a couple.

Fans have given the couple several ship names, including Traylor and Swelce. Other popular portmanteaus include Tayvis and T².

Taylor Swift walked with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, hand-in-hand after the Kansas City Chiefs lost their Christmas Day game at Arrowhead Stadium to the Las Vegas Raiders, 20-14.

After the game, Kansas City Star photojournalist Nick Wagner shared a photo on his Instagram Story of the two holding hands while walking down an Arrowhead Stadium hallway. “Spent my Christmas waiting for these two lovebirds,” Wagner captioned the post.

Swift, 34, wore a black and gray plaid miniskirt, red sweater, black tights, her go-to black heeled loafers and a black bomber jacket. Meanwhile, Kelce, 34, wore a Chiefs letterman jacket and a cable white knit sweater with gray trousers.

During the Christmas Day game, the Raiders shocked the Chiefs by scoring on two Chiefs turnovers within a seven-second span in the first quarter. The Chiefs made it close in the end but were unable to make a complete comeback, falling to 9-6 on the season.

The sighting comes just days after Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes raved about Swift and her friendship with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, in an interview with CBS Mornings.

And for Swift’s birthday earlier this month, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt’s wife Tavia and daughter Gracie posted photos with the pop star holding an elaborate gift box addressed “To Taylor, from the Hunt family.”

“Happy birthday to this queen,” Gracie wrote on Instagram. “Bright, beautiful, beyond talented and engaging…easiest decision Time Magazine ever made for Person of the Year. Hope it’s your best & most blessed year yet.”

Days after sharing her birthday tribute to Swift on Instagram, Gracie altered the caption of the postto reveal that her family gifted the singer the perfect accessory for a pop star of Swiftian proportions: a microphone purse from Judith Leiber Couture.

According to The Kansas City Star, Tavia also confirmed the box’s contents in a comment on her own birthday tribute to Swift. She also said the singer “is actually one of the kindest, most intelligent people I’ve ever met.”

The Kansas City Chiefs are starting to understand the feeling of losing all too well.

 

Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes had on disappointed faces after Monday’s 20—17 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, and so did their significant others.

In a game in which Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell completed zero passes in the final three quarters, many of the Chiefs’ wounds were self-inflicted—an early missed field goal, two offensive turnovers, and more. Mahomes broke his 17—0 streak of beating division opponents in the months of November and December, and Kelce extended his eight-game streak of failing to record 100 receiving yards in a game.

The Chiefs will hope to bounce back against the Cincinnati Bengals next week.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were in awe of each other after Super Bowl 2024.

The Chiefs tight end and Grammy-winning singer shared a touching moment at Allegiant Stadium after Kansas City’s 25-22 overtime victory against the 49ers on Sunday night.

“Inside the NFL” captured the scene as the couple embraced.

“Oh, I cannot believe that,” Swift said to Kelce after he thanked her for coming. “I can’t believe you.”

Swift flew from Tokyo to Los Angeles on Saturday after four performances of her “Eras Tour” and then made it to Las Vegas on Sunday morning for the game.

“Thank you for making it halfway across the world… You’re the best, baby. The absolute best,” Kelce said as they hugged.

“Was it electric?” Kelce then asked Swift, who responded that “it was unbelievable.”

 

Swift was in attendance for 13 games this season, including all four postseason victories as the Chiefs defended their Super Bowl crown.

She watched the game in a suite alongside A-list pals, including Blake Lively and Ice Spice.

Kelce led all receivers with nine catches for 93 yards in the game as the Chiefs rallied past the 49ers after trailing 10-3 at halftime.

The couple began dating last summer after Kelce went public at his failed attempt to meet Swift at a concert in Kansas City.

Swift left for Japan after winning two Grammies a week earlier.

Kelce said they were “on top of the world” when asked if any couple had ever had a better week.

It was Kelce’s third Super Bowl in the past five years won alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid.

“I’m going to go ahead and enjoy this and everything that just happened,” Kelce said after the game. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I’ve been able to go through three times now. It gets sweeter and sweeter every time.

“You know the goal has always been to get three. But we couldn’t get here without getting that two, and having that target on our back all year.”
