LeBron James couldn’t believe it when he met NBA legend Michael Jordan for the first time.

The 39-year-old basketball star, a sophomore in high school when he first met the Chicago Bulls legend, said he “literally couldn’t believe it” when Jordan, 60, was right in front of him during a new episode of UNINTERRUPTED’s After Party podcast.

“When I met Michael Jordan for the first time, I literally couldn’t believe it was him. The dude looked like Jesus Christ to me. He was Black Jesus to me,” James said on the show.

The Lakers star explained that he was in Chicago with Maverick Carter, James’ close friend and manager since 2006 when he met his basketball hero.

“Nobody told me that Mike lifted before he played,” James recalled, adding that as a high school sophomore, he didn’t know “anything about lifting” at the time. “We walk up there, and the first person I see is Charles Oakley.”

Dwyane Wade on Debate Over Michael Jordan and LeBron James’ GOAT Status: ‘Will Never See Another’

James said he first “dapped up” Oakley, a fellow Cleveland native who was known for his stellar play with the New York Knicks during his 19 years in the NBA. “Then Oak moved, and when he moves, Mike is sitting on the bench press,” he continued.

“I was like, ‘Oh my f—ing God,” James said. “I didn’t think it was real, man. You don’t understand. I didn’t think Michael Jordan was real. I only thought he lived in the TV. When I saw him, I was like, if the man above would have taken me that day, I would’ve lived a hell of a life, I swear to God.”

James obviously went on to become a superstar just like Jordan — he became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer last February — after meeting the Bulls legend.

James remained such a fan of Jordan’s throughout The Last Dance subject’s playing career that he cried when Jordan announced his retirement in 1993. Jordan would return to the league in 1995, but a young James was still left emotional at the thought of Jordan’s departure.

The HBO documentary dove into one of the most significant points of Jordan’s life — when he announced his sudden retirement from the NBA following the murder of his father, James Jordan, in 1993. The revelation came just a short time after the star won his third straight championship with the Bulls.

While watching the series, James shared how emotional the moment was for him in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Definitely cried this day. 9 years of age,” James, 35, tweeted on Sunday night during the broadcast. “Just Couldn’t believe it.”

Shаq аnd Pіррen went bасk аnd forth on the Lаkerѕ vѕ Bullѕ debаte.

In 2015, Shaquille O’Neal stirred the рot when he сlаimed thаt the Loѕ Angeleѕ Lаkerѕ would beаt the Chісago Bullѕ іn а gаme between the two frаnсhises’ аll-tіme beѕt teаmѕ. Not only dіd Bіg Dіeѕel ѕаy thаt, but he аlѕo deсlаred thаt іt would be а mіѕmatch, wіth the Lаkerѕ wіnnіng the gаme by 50 рoіnts.

Of сourѕe, O’Neаl wаѕ exаggerаtіng the wіnnіng mаrgіn, but wіthout а doubt, he meаnt іt when he ѕаid thаt the Lаkerѕ would wіn. Scottіe Pippen disagreed аnd ended uр engаgіng Shаq іn аn Inѕtаgrаm wаr of wordѕ.

ESPN brought uр the toріc to Mісhael Jordаn, аnd exрeсtedly, he ѕіded wіth Pіррen. However, he felt lіke Shаq wаѕ merely ѕtаrting а mythісal debаte.

“I juѕt felt lіke he wаѕ juѕt tаlkіng,”  ѕаid Jordаn.  “It’ѕ а debаte. The thіng іѕ thаt we would never know…I thіnk we would hаve kіlled them. He thіnkѕ they would hаve kіlled uѕ. You guyѕ deсіde. It’ѕ juѕt а debаte.”

    A mythісal debаte

Theѕe debаteѕ аre сommon іn the NBA. There аre the іndіvіduаl oneѕ, lіke the GOAT debаte. Then, otherѕ сomрare сhаmpionship teаmѕ from dіfferent erаѕ. Thіѕ one wаѕ dіfferent beсаuse іt wаѕ аbout the beѕt fіve іn the frаnсhise hіѕtory.

Wіth theіr ѕtorіed hіѕtory, more аll-tіme greаtѕ donned the Lаkerѕ jerѕey thаn the Bullѕ. When Shаq mаde hіѕ аrgument, The Dіeѕel threw іn аn аll-tіme fіve of hіmѕelf, Kobe Bryаnt, Mаgіc Johnѕon, Elgіn Bаylor, аnd Kаreem Abdul-Jаbbаr. O’Neаl сould hаve even thrown іn the lіkeѕ of Jerry Weѕt or Wіlt Chаmberlаіn аnd сould ѕtіll hаve hаd the better 5.

Aссordіng to O’Neаl, hіѕ fіve would beаt аn аll-tіme Chісago teаm сomрosed of Jordаn, Pіррen, Dennіѕ Rodmаn, Horасe Grаnt, аnd Derrісk Roѕe. You саn аlѕo mаke а саse for the lіkeѕ of Artіѕ Gіlmore, Bob Love, аnd Jerry Sloаn.

Pіррen flexed hіѕ rіngѕ to Shаq

Lookіng аt both lіneuрs, іt looked сleаr thаt the Lаkerѕ hаd the more рromіnent ѕtаrѕ. But you саn’t blаme Pіррen for dіѕagreeіng. No Hаll of Fаmer would tаke аnother teаm over hіѕ teаm. However, Pір flexed hіѕ rіngѕ to Shаq аnd told the Bіg Fellа thаt he won only hаlf of theіr accomplishments іn Chісago.

But whіle Sсottіe wаѕ ѕрot-on wіth hіѕ rіng tаlly, he dіd not get Shаq’ѕ аrgument beсаuse O’Neаl wаѕn’t juѕt tаlkіng аbout hіѕ Lаkerѕ teаm; he wаѕ tаlkіng аbout everybody from the Lаkerѕ verѕuѕ everyone from the Bullѕ, аnd іnterestіngly, іt doeѕ look lіke а mіѕmatch, аt leаѕt on рарer.

There’ѕ no queѕtіon thаt the Bullѕ domіnаted the 90ѕ іn а mаnner only the 60ѕ Celtісs dіd better. But they’ve hаd lіttle ѕuссeѕѕ іn аny other deсаde. Meаnwhіle, the Lаkerѕ аre аrguаbly the beѕt frаnсhise іn NBA hіѕtory, wіnnіng tіtleѕ іn dіfferent erаѕ wіth dіfferent аll-tіme greаtѕ. Between Shаq’ѕ 50-рoіnt wіn рredіctіon аnd Jordаn ѕаying the Bullѕ would kіll the Lаkerѕ, O’Neаl’ѕ ѕtаtement іѕ more belіevаble.

Stephen Curry, a superstar in the NBA, recently graduated from Davidson College in an unusually solo ceremony. At the same time as the invitation-only ceremony, Curry’s jersey was retired in acknowledgment of his outstanding effect on collegiate basketball.

Steph Curry returned for a brief, symbolic graduation ceremony after leaving Davidson to play professional basketball. The event was a fitting remembrance of his dedication to education and the lasting impact he had on the athletic tradition of the university.

Davidson College’s graduation ceremony was little, but it meant the world to Curry and his family. The NBA legend was able to reflect on his career and enjoy the fruits of his labour at this event. Davidson has chosen to retire Curry’s jersey because of the lasting impression he had on the school.

University officials and Curry’s close friends attended the touching one-man graduation ceremony, which was a tribute to the athlete’s commitment to completing his degree. Thanks for the opportunity to achieve this goal, Curry said. He is famously humble and appreciative.

Curry had his jersey retired from the Davidson College basketball team in recognition of his tremendous contributions to the programme. Because of Curry, Davidson can look back on its athletic history with pride, knowing that it will continue to be a source of motivation for generations of Davidson students.

Reactions to the unusual commencement ceremony were overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Curry for his commitment to education. His admirers and followers lauded his hard work in the classroom and also his achievements in the NBA.

Kansas City Chiefs fans tackle parade ‘shooter’ and hold him down until cops arrive in dramatic video – ‘We got the gun!’

Brave Kansas City Chiefs fans tackled a suspected gunmen today as he attempted to flee cops after a shooting at the Super Bowl parade, new video has revealed.

Three gunmen opened fire inside Union Station moments after the team including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes left the stage on what should have been a triumphant day for the city following the Chiefs victory in Las Vegas on Sunday.

At least one person was killed and 29 others were injured as fans, including young children, ran from the gunfire. Unconfirmed reports stated that some of the casualties were rushed to nearby Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Amid the terror, a heroic group of men were seen taking down one of the suspected perpetrators. They hauled the alleged gunman to the ground and then shouted ‘we got the gun.’ The men held down the suspect until cops arrived to detain him.

The identities of the three gunmen have not yet been confirmed and no motive has been given for the attack. One of those detained was pictured in a red hoodie sitting on a curb with his hands cuffed behind his back.

It came just moments after superstars including the quarterback, Mahomes, greeted fans following the team’s historic 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The team were on buses returning to Arrowhead Stadium when the shooting started.

A heartbroken Mahomes later took to social media offering his condolences. ‘Praying for Kansas City,’ he wrote.

The White House said in a statement: ‘The President has been briefed on the shooting in Kansas City and will continue to receive updates.

‘White House officials have been in touch with state and local leaders, and federal law enforcement is on the scene supporting local law enforcement.’

Police evacuated the train station as huge crowds fled in panic after the shots rang out, with up to one million people expected to have descended on Kansas City for the parade.

Fans were seen scrambling from the scene, with several people wheeled away in stretchers.

Player Drue Tranquill said on X shortly after the shooting: ‘Please join me in prayer for all the victims in this heinous act.

‘Pray that doctors & first responders would have steady hands & that all would experience full healing.’

Kansas City Fire reportedly said that of those injured, five were ‘serious’, three were ‘critical’, and one person has non-life-threatening injuries.

Kansas City Police Department chief Stacey Graves said at a press conference: ‘At the conclusion of the Chiefs’ rally today, there were shots fired on the west side of Union Station.

‘Immediately, officers responded to the area, took two people into custody and also immediately rendered life-sustaining aid to those victims.

‘We’re still gathering information on the number and the status of victims. We know that one of the victims is deceased.

‘Right now, we have up to 10 to 15 injured. We do not have an exact number of people who were victims of a gunshot wound.

During the press conference, it was announced that the Kansas City Chiefs had confirmed all their players, coaches and staff were safe and accounted for.

Chiefs players and staff were celebrating beating the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Sunday to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions in 19 years.

Offensive lineman Trey Smith thanked first responders, adding: ‘You’re the ones who should be celebrated today.’

Earlier, the city had been in party mode as Super Bowl MVP Mahomes and team-mate Kelce took center stage on a platform near Union Station.

Mahomes had told a cheering crowd the Chiefs were going for a ‘three-peat’ next season while Kelce led the supporters in some chanting.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said he was inside the Union Station when the shooters began firing. He did not say if he saw the gunmen, but praised the ‘stream of officers ready to face danger’ that darted inside.

Witnesses described terrifying scenes as the family occasion descended into nightmarish scenes.

Gabe Wallace, a sophomore at local Shawnee Mission East, told the Kansas City Star that he was quickly separated from his friends as the carnage unfolded.

He said his only thoughts were ‘my friends are dead’, and said coach Andy Reid comforted him.

Rick Burkholder, a staffer for the Kansas City Chiefs team, said shortly after that Coach Reid was rushed to safety, and he and his family were ‘safe and on a bus headed to Arrowhead.’

Missouri is an open carry state and it is possible that numerous fans in the crowd were also carrying firearms.

The shooting unfolded on the sixth anniversary of the Parkland shooting, when 17 people were killed and 17 others were injured.

It marks the 48th mass shooting of the year so far, only into its second month.

Patrick Mahomes Celebrates Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2024 Win at Disneyland: ‘Something I’ll Never Get Tired of’

The Super Bowl MVP was all smiles at the magical theme park in California

Patrick Mahomes celebrated his third Super Bowl win at the happiest place on Earth – Disneyland!

The 28-year-old Kansas City Chiefs quarterback celebrated his 2024 Super Bowl victory on Monday with wife, Brittany Mahomes and their two children, Sterling Skye, 2, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes, 1.

In an interview at the Anaheim, Calif. theme park, he reflected on returning to Disneyland after consecutive Super Bowl wins.

“I enjoy it every single time, and to be back at Disneyland again, after being back last year, it’s a moment that hopefully I’ll keep getting to do over and over again,” the NFL star said.

Patrick also shared that seeing the fans’ smiling faces as he rides in the parade after a Super Bowl victory is “something I’ll never get tired of.”

“The energy, the smiles, the love I feel from everybody at the park — I mean, it truly is special, and it’s one of those moments that you’ll have forever.”

Patrick had a lot to celebrate on Monday after becoming only the third player ever to win three or more Super Bowl MVP trophies — Tom Brady won five and San Francisco 49ers legend Joe Montana won three, per ESPN.

Sunday’s MVP title also makes Patrick the first back-to-back Super Bowl MVP since Terry Bradshaw won it twice leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to consecutive wins in Super Bowl XIII and XIV in 1979 and 1980.

Following the win, Patrick was asked how he kept his cool to score the winning drive, and said it was “a microcosm” of their season. The quarterback praised his team’s “defense” for “keeping us in there,” and “of course, Harrison Butker,” who tied the game with a field goal to go to overtime.

His family, including his mom, Randi Mahomes, and brother, Jackson Mahomes, were in attendance at Allegiant Stadium to cheer on the quarterback.

Just a few days before the 2024 Super Bowl, Randi told PEOPLE that being a “young” mom to Patrick was a blessing. “He was my little best friend. We were together 24/7, and I learned with him.”

Randi, 48, added, “He made me grow up in a good way, in a great way. Being a mother is my favorite thing sometimes, and sometimes it’s hard, but it is my favorite thing, and I always say, ‘Where would I be without it?’”

And just before kickoff between the Chiefs and 49ers, Brittany and their two kids enjoyed a family moment on the sidelines inside Allegiant Stadium.

In a photo the NFL posted on social media, Brittany and Sterling hold up baby Bronze as he lifts his little hands in the air in excitement.

But the toddler soon fell asleep. “Boy didn’t even make kickoff,” Brittany shared on her stories, along with a photo of a snoozing Bronze.

HOT NEWS: Kansas City Chiefs’ Roster Reveals 3 Potential Cut Candidates Ahead of 2024 Offseason!!!

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney, Lucas Niang

Despite a less than flawless season, the Kansas City Chiefs secured their third Super Bowl title in five years with Patrick Mahomes’ talent and a resilient defense, triumphing over the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in Super Bowl LVIII. With aspirations for an unprecedented three-peat, the franchise’s offseason moves will be critical.

Chiefs' Reid already preparing for next season

While acquisitions are crucial post-season, tough decisions loom regarding veteran players and their impact on the salary cap. Currently holding $22 million in cap space for 2024, the Chiefs face dilemmas with impending free agents like Chris Jones and L’Jarius Sneed. Here are the top three candidates for potential cuts as the Chiefs aim to create cap room:

Valdes-Scantling’s performance hasn’t justified his hefty price tag, with his 2024 cap hit of $13.98 million far exceeding his production. Cutting him this offseason would save the Chiefs $11.98 million, a significant boost to their cap space.

With lackluster stats and issues like drops plaguing his game, Toney’s $2.5 million salary could be better utilized elsewhere. Though releasing him would mean eating his entire salary, it’s a move that could benefit both the team and Toney.

Travis Kelce says push on Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was ‘definitely unacceptable’

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said on Wednesday that his push of head coach Andy Reid during Super Bowl LVIII was “definitely unacceptable.”

Speaking on his ‘New Heights’ podcast alongside his brother Jason, Kelce explained the situation, admitting that he went too far.

“I can’t get that fired up to the point where bumping Coach and it’s getting him off balance and stuff. When he stumbled, I was like: ‘Aw, sh*t’ in my head.”

Angered that Reid had taken him out of the game during the first half, Kelce pushed the 65-year-old so hard on the sideline that the Chiefs head coach momentarily lost his balance, while the tight end continued to shout in his face.

Reid laughed off the incident following the Chiefs’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers, telling CBS’ postgame show, “He keeps me young. He tested that hip out. He caught me off balance – normally, I’d give him a little bit, but I didn’t have any feet under me.”

But on Wednesday’s podcast, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason said that his brother “crossed the line” and that his yelling in Reid’s face “too is over the top.”

Travis called the incident a “cheap shot,” adding that he wishes he could have taken what he did back.

The 34-year-old explained that Reid came up to him after the incident and didn’t have any harsh words for him, even though Kelce expected some.

“I deserve it. If he would have cold cocked me in the face right there, I would have just ate it. I would have been like: ‘Let’s f**king go.’”

Instead, Reid told him that he loves Kelce’s passion and that it fired him up even more to get a win for him.

Kelce was supported by another legend of the game in the form of Tom Brady, who said that the encounter was typical NFL “family issues” and something he was a part of regularly.

“Emotions are so high. You are definitely not centered and balanced. You’re not in a meditative state at that point,” Brady said on the ‘Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray’ podcast. “You are fully determined to go out there and to win.

“So I think a lot of the things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back. And I actually think Coach Reid handled it just awesome, like he always does, ‘cause he just said: ‘I was a little off balance and Travis is such a competitor.’ And I love that because it just speaks to his leadership ability.”

The incident occurred in the first half of Super Bowl LVIII, during which Kelce was held to just one catch for one yard.

However, by the end of regulation and overtime, Kelce had nine catches for 93 yards and was a key reason behind the Chiefs retaining their Super Bowl crown and winning their third title in five seasons.

Kelce detailed his relationship with Reid – who he has played his whole career under – on Wednesday’s podcast, saying that he has a “certain relationship” with the Chiefs head coach.

“He’s checked me a few times, and I just wanted to let him know that I wanted this thing and that he can put it on me and I got him,” Kelce explained. “It just came in a moment where we weren’t playing very well. I wasn’t playing very well and we had to get some sh*t going.

“Sometimes, those emotions get away from me, man. That’s been the battle of my career, but, everybody else, I don’t give a sh*t what anybody else says. I talked to Coach Reid about it today and we kind of chuckled about it. I couldn’t be more proud of being his product on the field, and I couldn’t be more proud of where we’ve come as a team since I got here in 2013.

“I just love playing for the guy, man. And unfortunately, sometimes, my passion comes out where it looks like it’s negativity, but I’m grateful he knows it’s all because I want to win this thing with him more than anything.”

Kelce and the Chiefs will go for an unprecedented three-peat of Super Bowl titles next season.
