UPDATE!! Chiefs Secure Future with Trio of New Player Signings!

Chiefs Sign Three More Players To Futures Deals | Yardbarker

The Kansas City Chiefs have expanded their roster by signing three additional players to futures contracts, as reported by Aaron Wilson. Among the newly signed players are tight end Izaiah Gathings, offensive tackle Chukwuebuka Godric, and quarterback Chris Oladokun.

Futures contracts serve as invitations to training camp, granting players the opportunity to vie for roster spots during offseason workouts and camp sessions.

In addition to Gathings, Godric, and Oladokun, the Chiefs’ futures contracts roster encompasses a diverse set of talents:

    Defensive Tackle: Isaiah Buggs
    Defensive Back: Trey Dean
    Defensive Tackle: Matt Dickerson
    Running Back: Keaontay Ingram
    Defensive End: Truman Jones
    Running Back: Deneric Prince
    Defensive Back: Keith Taylor
    Wide Receiver: Montrell Washington

Chris Oladokun, aged 26, originally entered the league as a seventh-round pick for the Steelers in 2022. After being waived by Pittsburgh at the end of their training camp that year, he rejoined the team’s practice squad shortly afterward.

In February of 2023, the Chiefs acquired Oladokun from the Steelers’ practice squad. While he was signed to a futures contract with Kansas City last year, he was subsequently released at the end of camp, returning to the practice squad for the entire season.

Though Oladokun was elevated to the active roster for Kansas City’s Week 18 matchup against the Chargers as the emergency quarterback, he has yet to make his NFL debut.

Several of Taylor’s A-list pals joined her for the evening include Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid and Miles Teller.

As Travis is currently back in Kansas City for a mandatory training, he was absent  when Taylor kicked off her birthday celebration at Manhattan’s Zero Bond.

However, insiders revealed he is reportedly keen to continue celebrating her special day throughout the holiday, and even into 2024, with plans to join her on tour.

‘Travis is going to be with her and he is really nervous because he wants this to be her best birthday ever,’ a source told DailyMail.com about her birthday.

‘It isn’t about gifts for him, though he will be getting gifts for her, but he wants to provide an experience for her that is likely going to be more than just today,’ they added.

‘He is looking to lead things into Christmas and the New Year and have it be all about her,’ the source continued.

  • Megyn Kelly Calls For Boycott Of Taylor Swift After Singer Attends Gaza Relief Comedy Show

Megyn Kelly Calls For Boycott Of Taylor Swift After Singer Attends Gaza Relief Comedy Show

Megyn Kelly is calling for a boycott of Taylor Swift after the pop superstar appeared at a comedy event aiming to benefit Palestinians in Gaza.

Swift joined longtime pal Selena Gomez in Brooklyn, New York, for a Friday performance of Ramy Youssef’s “More Feelings” show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The starry crowd also reportedly included Cara Delevingne, Zoë Kravitz and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Last month, Youssef announced on Instagram that proceeds from a handful of his shows ― including the Brooklyn date, as well as engagements in Paris, Berlin and San Francisco ― would be donated to American Near East Refugee Aid to provide “humanitarian relief to the people of Gaza.” The Washington-based group, also known as Anera, focuses on helping refugees and vulnerable communities in the Palestinian territories, as well as in Lebanon and Jordan.

This, apparently, was too much for Kelly. On Tuesday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the conservative pundit tore into Swift, saying she “owes Israelis and Jewish Americans an apology” for her appearance at the show.

“I hope they boycott her events until she issues it, because attending this thing was wrong,” Kelly said. “Do some Googling. See what they do in Gaza to gays. See about women’s rights in Gaza.”

Addressing Swift, Kelly added, “You clearly know nothing.”

Watch a clip of Kelly’s remarks on Swift below.

Though the singer hasn’t publicly responded to Kelly’s comments, her devoted fans nonetheless came to her defense online.

“Megyn Kelly will lose more followers by just suggesting this than Taylor will ever,” one person wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Don’t mess with Mother!”

Another said that Kelly “needs a hug and some friendship bracelets. That might heal her. Poor thing.”

Kelly appeared to be arguing that humanitarian donations for Gaza were inappropriate since the territory has for years been controlled by Hamas — the militant group responsible for the deadly Oct. 7 attack on Israel, which has since launched a brutal retaliation on the Palestinian enclave.

On its website, however, Anera states, “Because Hamas is designated as a ‘terrorist group’ by the U.S. State Department, Anera does not work or even coordinate with them.”

Jason Kelce says his brother, Travis Kelce, had to move from his Kansas City home for “safety reasons” after his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift started

Jason Kelce shared that his brother, Travis Kelce, had to move from his Kansas City home for “safety reasons” after his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift started.

The topic came up during the Philadelphia Eagles’ conversation with Shaquille O’Neal on the Feb. 12 episode of “The Big Podcast with Shaq.”

Jason Kelce said he’s had to adjust to the fame brought on by his brother’s relationship with the pop star, which began in 2023.

“It’s crazy what it opens up opportunity wise. It’s crazy to feel how much joy you bring people or how much you affect people’s daily lives,” Jason Kelce said.

But there are “drawbacks” too, he continued. “Travis knows way more than I do,” he said. “He had to completely move out of his house.”

Travis Kelce lives near Kansas City, Missouri, where he plays for the city’s NFL team, the Chiefs.

At his previous residence, “people were just staying by his house” so he moved for “safety reasons,” Jason Kelce explained.

“And the first day he moved in the new house, a gated community, somebody knocks on the back door — a window — of the house,” he said.

Jason Kelce said he and his brother are “still learning” about life as a very public figure.

The tight end and the singer became romantically linked in July. Swift was a regular at Travis Kelce’s NFL games, creating a crossover between sports and pop culture fandoms. She flew from her Tokyo “Eras Tour” stop to Las Vegas to watch Travis Kelce compete in the 2024 Super Bowl, which his team won. It was the most-watched telecast in history.

“We’ve always been big in the football world, Travis especially,” he said. “The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level. It’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before.”

Jason Kelce also spoke about his retirement plans on the podcast, telling O’Neal he would decide in a matter of “weeks.”

Taylor Swift Seemingly Wore Bracelet with Sweet Nod to Travis Kelce’s Nickname — and It’s $21!

Erimish, a local Missouri jewelry store, revealed on social media that they created the bracelet specifically for Swift

Travis Kelce first expressed his interest in Taylor Swift via a friendship bracelet (with his phone number on it) — and now she appears to be repaying the favor.

The “Anti-Hero” singer, 34, was photographed at a party after the last Kansas City Chiefs game happily posing with her beau and planting a kiss for the cameras. In some photos, it’s apparent that she’s wearing a gold bracelet with red beads, which had a striking resemblance to one sold by the brand Erimish that spells out “Trav” — the Chiefs’ star’s nickname.

The jewelry store, which is Missouri-based, celebrated the moment on social media, re-sharing the photo of Swift and Kelce along with a red heart around the bracelet on their Instagram Story. On top of the photo, they wrote the words, “Spotted. Might just be another @erimish custom,” along with the link to the bracelet called “The Trav Custom.” Their website also has a link directing you to “Score your AS SEEN ON TAYLOR bracelet here!”

“After a game in October, Randi Mahomes gifted Taylor an Erimish Bracelet Stack that had several different custom word bracelets,” Erimish director of retail sales Sarah Fretwell tells PEOPLE. She adds says Swift’s most recent one “appears to be” the “Trav” bracelet: “It was definitely an option among other ‘friendship’-style bracelets that have been sent and/or gifted to Taylor!”

It was not the first time Swift has been seen in the brand’s custom bracelets to give a sweet shout-out to her man — she had been seen wearing their “87” bracelet in October.

Erimish co-owner Misha Wilson told Fox4KC that they make custom bracelets for many of the significant others and moms of NFL players), and their friend Randi Mahomes — Patrick Mahomes’ mother — asked if they’d like to make some for Swift as well.

However, Wilson said that they didn’t know whether Swift had gotten the bracelets until they saw the photo of her wearing the ’87’ style in the box.

“We had no idea that she had them yet. We hadn’t talked to Randi or anybody. And then, we just saw it all over the news, and we were like, ‘Oh, my gosh. Is that our bracelet?’ you know, and we waited for confirmation, and sure enough!” Wilson told the news station.

“We’ve sold more than we could ever imagine of just that single bracelet,” she said. “We’ve gotten a lot of people that didn’t even know we existed. They are customizing their own, but a lot of people are just ordering her favorite, you know, 13 and 87, his number. They’re ordering those numbers, but we’re getting a lot of custom numbers too.”

Erimish eventually released the new bracelet on their website in celebration of Swift’s 34th birthday, writing on Instagram, “The NEW Trav custom bracelet just went LIVE and bonus 34% off the custom collection in honor of the birthday girl herself! It’s time to make your style #shimmer.💋.”

The Erimish website notes that Swifties can “score” their own “as seen on Taylor bracelet” with a link to the “Trav” custom bracelet, which is on sale for $21. Fans can also purchase a bracelet with beads that show Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs number, 87, along with hearts for the same price.

The company also has many other Swift-themed bracelets on sale celebrating her 1989 and Lover albums, as well as other specific songs.

  • The Legend Continues: LeBron James Sets New Record with 20th All-Star Selection.

The Legend Continues: LeBron James Sets New Record with 20th All-Star Selection.

The Legend Continues: LeBron James Sets New Record with 20th All-Star Selection.

LeBron James surpasses Kareem Abdul-Jabbar again, this time for most All-Star selections in NBA history.

LeBron James joined yet another exclusive club, and he’ll have plenty of familiar faces alongside him at this season’s NBA All-Star Game.

James is now an All-Star — and an All-Star starter — for the 20th time, with the league unveiling the results of this season’s starter balloting on Thursday night. James is the first 20-time All-Star in NBA history. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, whose career scoring record was broken by James last season, was a 19-time selection.

This year’s game is Feb. 18 in Indianapolis.

Joining James in the Western Conference starting lineup: Phoenix’s Kevin Durant, Denver’s Nikola Jokic, Dallas’ Luka Doncic and Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the league’s leader in 30-point games this season who edged perennial All-Star starter Stephen Curry of Golden State for the final West backcourt spot. Durant is a 14-time selection now, one of only 11 players in NBA history to be picked that many times.

In the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo will be joined by Boston’s Jayson Tatum and Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid — the reigning NBA MVP, two-time defending scoring champion and current NBA scoring leader — in the frontcourt. Tatum set an All-Star Game record last season, scoring 55 points in the contest at Salt Lake City on the way to MVP honors.

The East guards are Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton — who’ll be a starter on his home floor — and Milwaukee’s Damian Lillard.

“You never want to take it for granted, right?” Tatum told TNT, which broadcast the unveiling of the starters before Boston’s game in Miami. “There’s 450 guys in the league and for the fans to consistently vote me, it’s truly an honor. It’s something I don’t take for granted. I grew up wanting to be in All-Star weekend every year and to live out that dream in real time is pretty cool.”

Among the notables not picked as starters: Curry, Boston’s Jaylen Brown, New York’s Jalen Brunson, Atlanta’s Trae Young, Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell, Miami’s Bam Adebayo, the Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis, Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox, Phoenix’s Devin Booker, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard, Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey and Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards.

The starters are selected through a formula where fan voting counts for 50%, voting by players themselves counts for 25% and voting by a panel of writers and broadcasters who cover the NBA counts for the other 25%. Antetokounmpo was the top overall vote-getter, collecting about 5.4 million from fans.

“Thanks to the fans, media and most importantly my peers for voting me into my 14th all star game,” Durant wrote on social media. “Can’t wait to lock in and hoop with some of the greatest ever in Indy.”

The reserves, to be announced on Feb. 1, are chosen in a vote of the league’s head coaches. Any additions to the rosters, should a player be unable to participate because of injury or another reason, will be made by Commissioner Adam Silver.

There are very few players in the U.S. major pro sports to be selected as an All-Star, or its equivalent, in 20 different seasons. James is the first to have that distinction in the NBA. He joins hockey’s Gordie Howe and a trio of baseball players — Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and Stan Musial — on that list.

Howe was a 23-time pick for the NHL All-Star Game. Aaron was a Major League Baseball All-Star in 21 different seasons, while Mays and Musial were in 20 seasons each. Mickey Mantle played in 20 baseball All-Star games over 16 seasons as a selection; some baseball seasons featured two All-Star contests.

This year’s All-Star Game goes back to the traditional East vs. West format, which was utilized in the first 66 NBA midseason classics. The most recent six saw the leading vote-getters from each conference serve as captains who got to draft their teams; James served as one of the captains all six times, with Antetokounmpo the other captain three times, Durant twice and Curry once.

But that format is gone, as is the ‘target score’ format that featured an untimed fourth quarter in the last four All-Star Games. The winner of those games was the first team to reach whatever the leading team had after three quarters, plus 24 points — the 24 being a nod to Kobe Bryant’s last jersey number. This year, it’ll be a regular game with overtime if necessary.

League officials said entering the season that they have been stressing to players the importance of improving the quality of the All-Star Game. According to SportsMediaWatch, last year’s game averaged around 4.6 million viewers across TNT and TBS — the lowest number since that stat started being collected.

“When you turn on an NBA All-Star Game, I think people expect to see some competition,” Joe Dumars, the league’s executive vice president and head of basketball operations said as the season started.

Travis Kelce’s Mom Extends ‘Open Invitation’ to Taylor Swift – Will She Accept?

As the NFL gears up for an exciting clash between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, a surprising invitation has emerged from an unexpected source. Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, has extended what she calls an ‘open invitation’ to global pop sensation Taylor Swift.

Donna Kelce, a known Patriots fan, took to social media to express her admiration for Swift and playfully invited her to join the Kelce family at the upcoming game. The tweet read, “Hey @taylorswift13, you’re always welcome to join the Kelce family cheering on the Chiefs! Open invitation for this Sunday’s game – what do you say?”

The internet erupted with excitement as fans speculated about the possibility of Swift accepting the invitation and becoming an honorary member of the Kelce cheering section. While the singer has yet to respond directly to the tweet, her close friendship with Travis Kelce adds a layer of intrigue to the invitation.

Swift, known for her genuine connections with friends and fans, has previously expressed her love for unexpected adventures. Whether or not she’ll take Donna Kelce up on the offer remains uncertain, but fans are eagerly awaiting Swift’s response.

As the countdown to the Patriots-Chiefs game continues, the question on everyone’s mind is whether Taylor Swift will be spotted at Gillette Stadium, cheering on the Chiefs alongside the Kelce family. Until then, the open invitation adds an exciting twist to the pre-game buzz, leaving fans wondering if the pop sensation will indeed grace the NFL showdown with her presence.
