Who was the last team to defeat the 2023 Kansas City Chiefs before they went on to win their third Super Bowl championship in five seasons?

The answer would be the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on Christmas Day. And recently, then-interim-turned-full-time Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said a significant reason was the “Jordan” rules enacted for Patrick Mahomes.

Pierce opened up about what that means in a recent edition of defensive end Maxx Crosby’s podcast, “The Rush.”

“We’ve got the Jordan rules and what I’m calling, from now on as long as I’m here, the Patrick Mahomes rules,” said Pierce. “So, you remember when Jordan was going through it with the Pistons, all those guys in the ‘80s; before he became Michael Jordan, Air Jordan, the Pistons used to whup his ass. Any time he came to the hole? Elbows, feeling him, love taps. We touched him. We’re in the head, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, I’m touching you. So, I showed those guys Jordan getting his ass whupped.”
Mahomes was held to 235 yards and a touchdown in a game in which Las Vegas hit him 10 times, including four sacks. The quarterback also threw an interception.

The Raiders served as grinches in the 20-14 win, and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid later told Pierce that the Raiders’ effort taught them a lesson. Kansas City’s players have noted that game as the turning point in what went on to be a Super Bowl championship run.

Pierce also told Crosby the Chiefs using their facility for the Super Bowl will provide “motivation” for 2024 and beyond.

But — knowing Mahomes — so will the Raiders’ public disclosure of the “Jordan” rules.

Kylie Kelce attended Cabrini University and graduated in 2017 with a degree in communications. There, she played field hockey.

Kylie Kelce made her debut on Jason and brother Travis Kelce’s joint podcast “New Heights” in September 2023 and shared their relationship origins.

In June 2018, Jason and Kylie Kelce got married at the Logan Hotel in Philadelphia, according to Philadelphia Magazine.

While talking about their love story on Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, the couple revealed how they got engaged.

“Let’s be abundantly clear. Jason Kelce was carried home from a bar by a teammate on his first date with Kylie

The first date between the future couple was memorable, but not because of a romantic connection.

An inebriated Kelce had to be carried home from a bar by Beau Allen, one of his Philadelphia Eagles teammates at the time.

Kelce recalled that night with Allen, 32, on the Feb. 21 episode of the “New Heights” podcast that also included Chris Long, 38, another one of their Eagles teammates.

Kelce had been excited to make a good first impression on his future wife after the two met on Tinder and talked for a few weeks before finally deciding to get together.

However, the night started with Kelce and his Eagles teammates drinking at the team’s holiday party. It spiraled from there after Jason linked up with Kylie at a bar called Buffalo Billiards in Philadelphia.

“Kelce is like, ‘We’re going to meet up with this girl,’ and I like heard all about her, excited to meet her, and the night just went a little bit sideways,” Allen said. “Kelce fell asleep on the bar, like snoozing.”

“It’s actually not that uncommon,” Kelce said.

“I have kind of a disturbing amount of photos of you just asleep in various places,” Allen said.

Jason was in such rough shape that his teammates had to take him home from the bar on the first night he met Kylie.

Allen, a 6-foot-3, 330-pound nose tackle who retired from the NFL in 2022, picked up the 6-foot-3, 295-pound Kelce and carried him down the cobblestone street outside the bar.

“Kelce, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: That was physically one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” Allen said. “That was harder than climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. It was like anaerobic plus aerobic.”

Allen said he did his best to lug Kelce home.

“It’s like cobblestone streets Kelce, and you’re fighting me,” Allen said. “And I’m like straining. I dropped you.”

“I know I was sleeping, but I remember it,” Kelce said. “I remember fighting you and laughing my ass off.”

Kelce asked Allen if he was surprised Kylie granted him a second date after the drunken debacle of the first one.

“I was slightly surprised,” Allen said. “You’re a great guy. You’re charming. Look at that laugh, how can you not want to go on a second date with you?”

After a tremendous 2022-23 campaign, Philly rewarded superstar quarterback Jalen Hurts with a record-breaking new deal. This came out to the tune of $255 million for five years, which at that time, made Hurts’ $51 million per season the highest annual salary in league history.

That’s a lot of pressure to put on a young man’s shoulder. It’s hard to argue that Hurts did not deserve the big-money deal. However, according to long-time Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn, the 25-year-old superstar pretty much crumbled under the pressure.

Gunn reported that the massive deal “pulled Hurts in numerous directions on and off the field.” This put the weight of the world on his shoulders, which according to Gunn’s sources, Hurts was not able to “handle well.”

Hurts still had a Pro Bowl-worthy season and more often than not, he did look the part of the highest paid player in NFL history. However, there were also more than a few moments wherein Hurts failed to live up to the lofty expectations.

Perhaps the most staggering statistic for him is the fact that he threw a career-high 15 interceptions in 2023-24. He had six the previous season.

I guess the silver lining here is that Hurts has now gotten Year 1 out of the way. He wasn’t exactly a bust, but the Eagles will certainly expect more from their cornerstone quarterback this coming season.

Ed Kelce revealed that his younger son, Travis, happens to have a very soft spot for his three nieces.

 

While the Kansas City Chiefs star has become a household name due to his football prowess and high profile relationship with Taylor Swift, Ed shared how his nieces have ‘Uncle Trav’ wrapped around their fingers.

Ed was referring to Jason Kelce’s daughters with his wife Kylie. The pair share four-year-old Wyatt, two-year-old Elliotte and 11-month-old Bennett.

‘It all revolves around the girls, the granddaughters, as you can imagine,’ Ed said on Australia’s Today Show. ‘Who have, not surprisingly, both their grandfathers and their father wrapped around their fingers.

‘They can do whatever they want. And they have their Uncle Trav wrapped around their fingers when he shows up.’

After Ed mentioned how Jason’s household in Philadelphia is more family-centered, he pointed out the contrast with Travis’ lifestyle in Kansas City.

‘We’ve had some good barbecues out there and enjoyed it,’ Ed said. ‘He has a lot of friends that will show up. It seems like there’s always somebody from back home in Kansas City.’

Earlier this week, Ed shared that Travis was ‘keen’ to reunite with his popstar girlfriend in Australia as she resumes her record-breaking Eras tour. The 14-time Grammy winning artist flew from Tokyo to Las Vegas overnight to support Kelce at the Super Bowl on February 11.

‘Well, look, we spoke after the Super Bowl, and I asked him, ‘Are you going to take off for Sydney?’ and he seemed keen,’ Ed told the Sydney Morning Herald. ‘He said he’d really like to see Sydney and Singapore, but he wasn’t sure because he has commitments.’

Kelce’s week since winning their third title in five years has been split between Kansas City and Las Vegas. On Tuesday, he was spotted back in Sin City while participating in a charity golf tournament.

On Wednesday, however, TMZ reported that the Chiefs star boarded a private jet and was en route to the land down under for Swift’s tour.

Swift has four more performances in Sydney’s Accord Stadium before taking the show to Singapore in March. The tour will then make several stops in Europe before wrapping up in Toronto and Vancouver.

Before their night out on the Jersey Shore, the couple participated in several other activities while in town. Earlier on Saturday, Jason attended a charity event hosted by restaurant Mike’s Seafood. The local establishment hosts a 5K called Mike’s Seafood Polar Bear Run-Walk for Autism to raise money for autism support groups, families of special needs children and special service schools.

“Jason and his wife, Kylie, the whole family patronizes Mike’s Seafood, they come in and get takeout [or] they go out back to eat at the Dock Restaurant,” Monachetti said during an interview with 973 ESPN South Jersey on Sunday. “We just feel like we have a strong tie to Jason. His brother, Travis [Kelce], also comes with him, his mom, [Donna Kelce], everybody [in the Kelce family] comes down to Sea Isle City when [Jason] is here in the summertime.”

“We jυst waпted to say oυr hearts go oυt to all of the victims, their families, Chiefs Kiпgdom, aпd really all of Kaпsas City that was really there oп a day to try aпd celebrate the commυпity,” added Jasoп, 36.

“It’s υпfortυпate, aпd deeply tragic the eveпts that occυrred. So we waпt to thaпk the local law eпforcemeпt that spraпg iпto actioп, the first respoпders oп sceпe, aпd aпybody that’s beeп williпg to help those affected by this tragedy,” he coпtiпυed.

Travis remiпded their faпs that aп emergeпcy respoпse fυпd has beeп set υp to help sυpport the victims aпd their families, as well as violeпce preveпtioп, meпtal health services, aпd first respoпders.

Jasoп praised the Kaпsas City commυпity for “comiпg together aпd rallyiпg aroυпd the people that have beeп affected” by the tragedy.

“Oпe of the beaυtifυl thiпgs that we have iп doiпg this podcast is the woпderfυl commυпity oυt there — the 92%ers — everybody that watches this show,” he coпtiпυed.

“We’re still figυriпg oυt a way for υs to be iпvolved. Obvioυsly, yoυ caп doпate to these liпks right пow, bυt we plaп oп doiпg somethiпg iп the fυtυre. We’re tryiпg to get that sitυated right пow. [We] have some ideas, bυt jυst make sυre yoυ’re followiпg, aпd we’ll be telliпg yoυ gυys ways that we’re tryiпg to get iпvolved,” said Jasoп.

Their message comes a few days after the Kaпsas City Chiefs tight eпd aпd his charity, Eighty-Seveп & Rυппiпg, doпated $100,000 to a GoFυпdMe beпefitiпg Madisoп “Madi” Rose Reyes, 10, aпd Melia Reese Reyes, 8, who were iпjυred at the parade.

The sisters, who were both shot iп the legs, also received a visit from Chiefs qυarterback Patrick Mahomes aпd his wife Brittaпy.
