NBA fans flabbergasted amid Bronny James’ surprising draft projection at 54
Some NBA fans were flabbergasted after Bronny James was projected by ESPN as the 54th-best prospect in the upcoming draft. James made the jump from No. 98 to No. 54 after an impressive workout and solid performances in the scrimmages as his LeBron James watched.
According to the latest ESPN prospect rankings, the USC guard is now 54th among the 100 youngsters. Bronny’s vertical stood out during the combine, while his height might have turned off a few scouts. He also shot the ball well during drills, but struggled during scrimmage.
A couple of scouts even had some bad reviews of the 19-year-old guard, with one of them comparing him to a “poor man’s version” of Davion Mitchell of the Sacramento Kings. The LA Lakers are reportedly interested in drafting Bronny with their 55th overall pick.
Fans are shocked that Bronny James is now part of the Top 60 after a four-point performance in his first scrimmage game. Bronny was abysmal, which was one of the reasons why some scouts didn’t deem him NBA-ready.
“After scoring 4 points?” a fan asked.
“Collegiate Role Player 6’1″ 4.8 PTS 36.6% FG 26.7% 3PT. This is crazyness,” a fan commented.
“If his name was Bronny Anderson he would be at Eastern Kentucky battling for playing time,” one fan mocked.
Some fans defended the rankings because Bronny James was much better in his second game at the combine. Bronny scored 13 points and was good defensively with his parents LeBron and Savannah James in attendance.
“He’s gonna keep rising,” a fan claimed.
“Wouldn’t suprise me if Lebron tells teams not to draft him so they can choose a team as an undrafted free agent. Would be better for them,” another fan commented.
“He a real hooper I don’t know what he gets so much hate….oh wait,” one fan wrote.
